Our advice on the ketogenic diet.
Keto bars.
This is a diet where you replace the majority of carbohydrates with fats and proteins. The idea is to get more calories from protein and fats and fewer carbohydrates. This will put you in a state of ketosis. It's a fairly restrictive diet to maintain over time, but it can have many health benefits.
Absolutely , our R&D team has been working for many months to develop a keto bar that could be adapted to this diet. Today, we are pleased to offer you this whole nut bar that combines the benefits of nuts with protein, all with no added sugar.
Our keto bar is primarily made from nuts and contains healthy fats and protein. The amount of carbohydrates (including sugar) is very low (only 7g per keto bar).
People most often use a ketogenic diet for weight loss. This is because when you follow a low-carb diet, your body draws its energy from ketones (which come from fat produced by the liver). Over time, this can lead to significant weight loss and fat loss. But the most obvious impact of the ketogenic diet on weight loss is mainly due to its higher intake of fats and proteins, which are necessarily more satiating (appetite suppressant) than a high-carb diet.
Some people find it easy to stick to a ketogenic diet (with a 50g carb limit per day), while others find it unsustainable. It's also worth noting that some studies don't support the ketogenic diet's effectiveness for weight loss. However, the ketogenic diet is also known for helping manage certain health conditions, such as acne, epilepsy, and heart disease. Don't hesitate to talk to a doctor to see if this diet is right for you and your lifestyle.
You should drastically reduce your carbohydrate intake and favor foods rich in fats and proteins . Such as nuts, meat, eggs, oily fish, oil (olive oil, coconut oil), butter, avocado, low-carb seeds (chia, flax, sesame, hemp seeds) etc... Conversely, avoid foods rich in carbohydrates such as potatoes and pasta, bread, cereals, legumes, fruits too rich in carbohydrates, sodas and sweets. Dairy products should be consumed in small quantities, especially those containing carbohydrates such as milk and sweetened yogurts.
Ketosis is a metabolic state in which the blood contains high levels of ketone bodies. This occurs when the body begins to use fat as its primary energy source due to reduced access to glucose and blood sugar. This is usually caused by starvation, fasting, or a very low-carb diet.
Many cells in the body prefer to use glucose for fuel. When your body doesn't have enough glucose to fuel these cells, insulin levels drop, and body fat stores release large amounts of fatty acids.
Many of these fatty acids are transported to the liver where they are oxidized and converted into ketones, also called ketone bodies. These are then used as alternative energy sources throughout the body. Unlike fatty acids, ketone bodies can cross the blood-brain barrier and fuel the brain without glucose.
In short, it's when your body uses fat for fuel instead of carbohydrates.
With less than 50 grams of carbohydrates per day, your body eventually runs out of fuel (blood sugar). This usually takes 3 to 4 days. Then, your body turns to fats and proteins for energy. This is called ketosis.
