How did you discover OKR?
I discovered OKR thanks to Pascal Martinot-Lagarde. His testimony made me want to try it. I eat everything, by feeling, even if I must admit that I have a good appetite. When I have to be careful, I work on it, but I never deprive myself! I consume OKR on a daily basis, when I don't have time to prepare a meal or when traveling, when my food choices are limited. It allows me to regain strength, no matter where I am.
What is your typical day with OKR?
On an average day, I get up around 8 a.m.
8:30 a.m. – 9 a.m .: For breakfast, I eat two slices of whole-wheat bread with chocolate spread and a smoothie. I have a real sweet tooth and I love chocolate spread. I eat it every morning. It's my little treat.
10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m .: I start my day with a cardio or strength training workout.
12pm – 1pm : If I have time for a proper break, I'll make myself something to eat (pasta or rice). However, if it's a quick break, I prefer to eat an OKR meal—a bar or a ready-to-drink—before resuming training at 2pm.
2:00 PM – 3:30 PM : I train with my personal trainer in one-on-one sessions. This is not a daily workout.
5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m .: I follow up with a group workout. I don't eat anything between lunch and this workout.
8 p.m .: It's dinner time. I never skip meals, so even if I'm not hungry, I eat a little something. When I have time, I take the time to cook with my boyfriend.
In my free time, I like to enjoy myself. I'm quite the foodie. I tried the crunchy ones at the cinema. I knew I'd be tempted by the popcorn and it was time to try it. It was a week before my competition, I wanted to be careful about what I ate. So, I gave it a try and honestly, it was perfect. It gives that gourmet touch, without making a huge difference.
On competition days, it's a little different.
8:30 a.m. – 9 a.m .: I prepare a savory breakfast: omelet, pasta, rice… At first, it’s a bit hard but it’s a habit to get into and it gives me energy for the fight.
10 a.m .: I start warming up.
11:30am – 1pm : My competitions usually start at 11:30am and end around 1pm… right in the middle of lunchtime, so it’s a good idea to stock up in the morning.
2 p.m .: If I can, I go back to the hotel to prepare a meal with starchy foods, proteins, etc., but most often, I just eat a banana, compote, or an OKR bar, depending on what I have on hand. In karate, we often have digestive problems. I don't know why, but it's recurrent. We eat. We train. We eat. We train, without giving the body time to digest calmly. I like OKR because I digest more easily and quickly. It prevents me from being embarrassed and feeling heavy during my training.
