An adventurer at heart, Charly Vigné is convinced that willpower is the driving force behind all change. That's why she's been working for several years to imagine and carry out projects that deliver meaning, sensations, and emotions. She contacted OKRback to submit a crazy project. Ambitious. Feminist. Eco-friendly. And we helped her make it happen.
An extraordinary adventure.
This adventure begins with 6 young women from diverse backgrounds: Charly, Laura, Marine, Sarah, Soukayna and Typh.
Each of them has personal goals, limits to push, things to prove. Together they have set themselves the challenge of conquering one of the Seven Summits: Kilimanjaro, which rises to over 5,890m. “ We don't have any celebrities among us, just normal people with a shared desire to surpass themselves and show that it's possible. ”
To exceed one's limits.
This 15-day eco-friendly climb—including 8 days of climbing with extremely low oxygen levels—began in October 2019. With altitude, oxygen levels drop, and the physical effort required to complete the climb requires a great deal of determination, training, and preparation in advance. Each adventurer had to confront their own physical and mental limits to cope with this lack of oxygen, as well as the extreme temperatures, the lack of comfort, and the constant fatigue. A challenge they all met, as they reached the summit together.
To make things change.
This is a project with real ecological significance. In less than 20 years, the last glacier atop the roof of Africa will have completely disappeared. To raise awareness about climate change, they were accompanied by two filmmakers, equipped with cameras, GoPros, and drones, to film the adventure and create a powerful documentary.
How did OKRback help them achieve this adventure?
OKRback supported this project with financial and material assistance, as well as media exposure. If you'd also like to apply to the OKRback program, submit your project.
