After spending 2020-2021 at home, it's time to treat yourself to some adventure. This sports-themed summer doesn't stop you from enjoying our beaches. Let's take a look at the activities you absolutely must try during your stay by the water.
Vacations by the sea or the ocean offer a multitude of activities. Here are five sports to try this season.
Surfing
For the first time, surfing becomes an Olympic discipline. There are few cooler and more complete sports.
You'll work your arms, balance, core and glute strength, and even your legs. Surfing is a sport that sculpts the body. Obviously, you'll need to be patient for the first two or three days. After that, it's pure bliss. Now you know, it's impossible to spend a week in Biarritz without trying this sport, which is always so trendy and good for you.
Wakeboarding
This snowboarding-derived sport has the advantage of being able to be practiced on the sea, lake, pond, and sometimes even on rivers. Like surfing, wakeboarding is a summer sport par excellence, with a real boost for core strength, legs, and arms. However, it's easier to get started with, and you'll feel the thrill from the very first outing.
To try it out without breaking the bank, it's recommended to try it out at a club. Expect to pay around thirty euros for a session with all the equipment provided. Note that some clubs also offer weekly rates.
The sail
Equally sensational but slightly less demanding, this sport is one of this season's biggest trends. Beyond learning to sail, sailing encourages initiative and decision-making. On a boat, whether you're a beginner or an experienced sailor, you'll always end up pushing your limits.
It's a unique sport. Once you're behind the helm, playing with the wind, you feel like a hero setting off on new adventures. It's our favorite summer sport.
Scuba diving
A must-try at least once in your life! Scuba diving is a technical sport and much more physical than it seems. Above all, it's a journey, the discovery of an aquatic world as soothing as it is mysterious.
You can take advantage of this summer to get your first dive or your PADI certification. Then you can dive alone in the most beautiful seas in the world.
Stand-up paddleboarding
For several years, paddleboarding has been the ultra-trendy sport of the summer season. Fun and easy to learn, it's the embodiment of "chill." Yet paddleboarding is a sport in itself that can be practiced in several ways. Some love paddleboard yoga, which is both physical and artistic, while others have fallen in love with paddleboarding.
