10 simple actions to protect the planet
- Take your own bag when shopping (forget plastic bags)
- Turn off the tap when brushing your teeth and only turn it on when you need to.
- Unplug chargers and plugs that you're not using right now (it's good for the planet and for your electricity bill at the end of the month!). It's also better to turn off your electrical appliances rather than putting them on standby.
- Replace water bottles : invest in a filter jug or simply tap water!
- Think long-term when making a small everyday purchase—a razor or toothbrush that needs replacing? Invest in beautiful items like a brass razor or a bamboo toothbrush.
- Consume fewer animal products . Cattle farming is responsible for 14.5% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Legumes, tofu, vegan meals... When possible, choose the alternative!
- Dust off your bike. Its average speed is similar to that of a car in an urban environment. Reduce your carbon footprint by choosing to walk, cycle, or take public transportation.
- No more plastic cups at coffee breaks: bring your own mug or water bottle to the office.
- Sort your waste. It's very simple to set up. Take 10 minutes during your next weekend to organize your trash cans and you'll never have to think about it again. Allow 1 basket for glass (recyclable), 1 bag for cardboard packaging and paper (recyclable), 1 bag for household waste (non-recyclable) and for food waste (unless you have a compost or collection bin near you, in which case you can bring your food waste there).
